Our Instructional Team
Learning Outside is committed to providing children with quality outdoor learning experiences led by seasoned, knowledgeable, child-centered outdoor instructors who align with our mission, vision and teaching approach.

Learning Outside’s programs are led by a small team of dedicated, experienced educators, naturalists, and/or primitive skills specialists, committed to helping children develop a love of nature and confidence in self-expression and inquiry-based learning. In addition, instructors plan for, guide and support children in developing self-awareness, group awareness, clear communication, team work, focused attention and inquiry.

Currently, all of Learning Outside's instructor positions are part-time. Some of LO's instructors teach year-round in both our school-year programs and our summer camps. Others only teach during school-year programs, co-leading multiple programs or just one program/week. And others join us each year for our summer camp programs.

Instructors are mentored around our unique approach to outdoor learning to assure continuity of experience for all of the children served through Learning Outside's programs.

Diversity within the instructor team, Board, and the children served is important to Learning Outside. Learning Outside does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national or ethnic origin. Qualified people of any background are encouraged to apply.
