Learning-in-Nature Summer Camps

Picture
Our summers begin with two Learning-in-Nature camps; Learning-in-Nature I for rising second graders and Learning-in-Nature II for rising third graders.  These camps, funded by The Grable Foundation, offer youngsters who do not have ready-access to nature-based, hands-on learning experiences with an opportunity to practice and apply their developing academic skills in a new context - the outdoors!

Dates for Summer 2020 are:
  • Learning-in-Nature I, Monday, June 15 - Friday, June 12
  • Learning-in-Nature II, Monday, June 22 - Friday, June 26

Each day includes 'journal entries' where children record their day's observations and discoveries, creative opportunities to use the arts to express their learning as well as time to dialogue about their discoveries, and to share their questions and observations. Our days also make time for field games, nature-based games, opportunities to collaborate and more!
