All of our programs are sited at Triangle Land Conservancy's beautiful Irvin Nature Preserve and Farm - 269 acres of pasture, forest and wetlands.
The Preserve is located just 5 miles south of Carrboro and Chapel Hill.

Directions from Carrboro/Chapel Hill:
  1. Take W. Main Street south out of Carrboro.
  2. Stay straight to go onto Jones Ferry Road
  3. Go 4.3 miles on Jones Ferry. 
  4. You'll know you are close when you see a bright yellow mailbox on the left marked 2912 Jones Ferry Road. 
    We are the NEXT drive on the left, clearly posted with a Learning Outside sign.
  5. Come up the drive, go past the first side drive on the left (which goes to the Orange County Partnership for Children project) and continue to the fork in the road. Take the left fork which brings you directly to our parking area.


Directions from downtown Pittsboro:

1. Take US 15-501 North for 9.9 miles.
2. Turn left onto Smith Level Road.
3. Go 1.6 miles.
4. Turn left onto Damascus Church Road. Go 3.9 miles.
5. Turn left onto Jones Ferry Road. Go 0.9 miles.
6. You'll know you are close when you see a bright yellow mailbox on the left marked 2912 Jones Ferry Road. 
7. We are the NEXT drive on the left, clearly posted with a Learning Outside sign. 
8. Come up the drive to the fork and take the left fork which brings you directly to the learning farm parking areaa.


Directions from Hillsborough:
  1. Take Old NC-86 south from Hillsborough.  Go 8.7 miles.
  2. Old NC-86 becomes Hillsborough Road.
  3. Stay straight to go onto Fayetteille Road. Go 2.2 miles.
  4. Turn right onto Jones Ferry Road. Go 3.3 miles. 
  5. You'll know you are close when you see a bright yellow mailbox on the left marked 2912 Jones Ferry Road.  
    We are the NEXT drive on the left, clearly posted with a Learning Outside sign.
