Fairy House Building!

Today's idea is: Fairy House Building!
This is always a favorite in all of our programs. It's also an activity children can add to day-after-day. After all, springtime is always a busy time for fairies!
  • First, pick a spot for your Fairy House or Fairy Village! Try to find a spot that's protected and doesn't get a lot of foot traffic.
  • Next, grab a basket or something you can use to gather natural materials.
  • Good materials to look for: sticks, fallen-off pine bark, leaves, acorn caps, hickory nuts, pine cones, sweet gum balls, green pine needles (they make a beautiful carpet!), small pebbles (great for lining pathways), feathers, twigs, natural clay, grapevine, seed pods of all sorts, little pieces of wood (great for furniture) and anything else you can think of! (And if you've been to the beach lately, you can also incorporate some seashells)
  • Now the building begins! There's no one way to do it - it's all up to your own imagination!
We would love to see a photo of the house or village you create! Feel free to email it or text it our way!
