Forest Kindergartners at the Storytelling Circle

Picture
Learning Outside's Forest Kindergarten program builds on the understanding that children are experiential learners and it is in their nature to investigate, examine and work to make sense of the world around them.  Learning Outside's is the first Forest Kindergarten offered in this area.  Both the rhythm of our Forest K day and the experiences that instructors provide offer children hands-on opportunities to explore and investigate the natural world. Children dress for the weather.  They wear extra layers on colder days and rain boots and waterproof clothes for puddle-jumping fun on rainy days.

Learning Outside's program is modeled after the innovative, hands-on Forest Kindergartens for 3 - 6 year olds available for young children in Europe, England, Scotland and Scandinavia.  The program takes place entirely outdoors on Triangle Land Conservancy's Irvin Nature Preserve; 269 acres of beautiful protected natural space with many diverse ecosystems.

Our Forest Kindergarten is offered 5 mornings each week and children may attend 2,3, 4 or all 5 mornings. Teacher student ratio is 1 to 6.
