Current Partners

Learning Outside's programs are made possible by our partnership with Triangle Land Conservancy. All programs are sited on Triangle Land Conservancy's Irvin Nature Preserve & Farm, 269-acres of beautiful, protected natural space. The site's diverse ecosystems make it ideally suited to supporting children's learning in nature.

The Oak Foundation and The Grable Foundation have been critical supports to our work on behalf of children in this community. Grants have also made it possible for us to actualize initiatives supporting at-risk, struggling students through active, hands-on learning experiences in nature. Additional program support has come from the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, Strowd Roses, Triangle Community Foundation, and individual donors.

Learning Outside partners with local public schools whose social workers, family specialists and educators refer increasing numbers of underserved children to our programs - children who do not have ready access to quality experiences learning in nature.

Grant support and donor contributions to our scholarship fund have allowed Learning Outside to serve every single child referred to us since 2009, when our program began. Over 35% of our Summer Camp participants, 20% of our total annual enrollment, are underserved youth who attend on 100% scholarships or through grants and individual donations!
